ASBA (Applications Supported by Blocked Amount) means your money stays in your bank account but is blocked until allotment. For UPI IPO bids, you approve a mandate request in your UPI app, which creates that block.
Funds are blocked, not transferred. You earn bank interest until they are debited.
A request in your UPI app that you must approve for the bid to be valid.
UPI IPO applications are currently allowed up to ₹5 lakh per application.
Mandates expire. Approve promptly, and before the issue closes.
With ASBA the application amount is held by your own bank. If shares are allotted, only that amount is debited. If not, the block is removed and the money was never out of your account.
You enter your UPI ID in the broker app. A collect request reaches your UPI app and you approve it with your UPI PIN. Only then does the bank block the amount and the exchange accept the bid.
Check these before the issue closes.
